Darren Kamp

I’m Darren and I have been prospecting for the past 40 years. I started prospecting for coins and relics when I was a teenager and came across my first gold nugget quite by accident. From then on I was hooked! I have found a lot of gold over the years including 6 oz, 8oz, 10oz, 16 oz and 24oz gold nuggets. There’s nothing more I like than getting out into the great Aussie bush, feeling the freedom and hunting down that elusive gold nugget. When I’m not detecting I enjoy attending swap meets and auctions searching for mining memorabilia for the shop.

Leanne Kamp

Hi I’m Leanne! I‘ve learnt most of what I know about gold prospecting through osmosis. I have accompanied Darren on his 3 month trips to Western Australia, I have crossed the Nullabor more times than I would believe possible in one lifetime and I share a real passion for business. Gold prospecting has become our lifestyle and I enjoy the prospecting fraternity and the many friends that we have made along the way. Before our gold prospecting journey, I was a Human Resources Consultant and later worked in managerial positions in retail. I even worked with Mick Malthouse of AFL fame for a while. When Im not working I love to go to the beach with my boogie board and relax afterwards with a good book and a glass of wine!

Paul D

Hi I’m Paul. My passion for detecting began around 20 years ago. I have liked watching equipment evolve over time and enjoy sharing my interest with others. I am a salesperson at Lucky Strike Gold and theres not too many questions from customers that stump me when it comes to gold prospecting (so give me your best shot). In my spare time when not out in the bush detecting you will find me singing at various country music events. I live in Torquay so have the best of both worlds; bush and beach.

Paul Z

My name is Paul and I work at Lucky Strike Gold as a Customer Experience Consultant, part time. You might be telling yourself, I know Paul at Lucky Strike but you may be confusing me with Paul D I’m Paul Z – two Paul’s are better than one. I am a semi-retired Victoria Police Officer who has had a passion for Gold and Relics for as long as I can remember. Being semi-retired allows me the time to sharpen my prospecting skills as often as I can. This includes detecting for gold in the bush, detecting the beach for relics and panning and sluicing (when the creeks are running) so when you’re next in the store say hi, I’m the Paul on the left. I look forward to helping you with all your detecting needs.

Justin

I’m Justin, the youngest member of the team. I’ve been lucky enough to work with Lucky Strike for a couple of years. I got into prospecting a few years ago when my dad took my brother and myself to the Ballarat goldfields with a hired GPX 5000, where we ended up finding more relics than gold. I loved it so much that I saved up and bought my Equinox 600 and 800. I get my detector out almost daily to detect around the Geelong region for local history. I’ve been detecting for over 5 years now and don’t plan to stop anytime soon. When I’m not detecting I’m usually behind a camera capturing the great outdoors.
