1. It is the largest coil available for the Equinox Detectors – There are now seven different coils for the Equinox (3 from Minelab and 4 from Coiltek)
2. This is best suited to open fields and beaches due to its size – coverage and depth being the two main characteristics of the coil.
3. For its size it is lightweight at just over 1 kg including skid plate.
4. It is best used with a detector harness to help the user swing the coil and reduce fatigue – we recommend the Minelab harness but there are many on the market today. It may not be an ‘All Day’ coil but certainly will have its place for optimum detecting experience.
5. The coil is built strong – the coil wings (shaft mounting area) has been tested many times with displacement and load tests on our, and Minelab’s ‘wobble tester’ units with a shaft attached which has replicated the swing forces over 20,000 cycles with no cracks or damage to the wings or coil. For any customers concerned about wings cracking or breaking they can be assured the coil attachment area is very strong.
6. A more controlled swing is required with this coil due to its size – short fast sweeps are best for the smaller coils; this coil will suit longer swings with a slower frequency of left to right.
7. This coil may not suit everyone but for the enthusiast and more professional detectorist they will find this coil to be a great addition for their detecting.
