One of our customers has made an incredible discovery, and we’re absolutely fascinated by it! While there were no gold nuggets this time, they stumbled upon something truly unique – a small, solid gold circle weighing 4.77 grams. Slightly larger than a 5c coin, this find has us all speculating. The hallmarks on the piece are intriguing but difficult to decipher, leaving us wondering: is it a piece of miner’s jewellery, a relic from a bygone era, or perhaps a lost treasure from Victorian times? We can’t wait to hear what you think!

Could this be a button, a cuff link, or even a rare piece of historical metalwork that dates back to the gold rush days? It’s always exciting to uncover something that might have been lost for centuries, and the possibilities here are endless!
Darren’s Take:
“It could easily be a broken cuff link, button, or a part of a Victorian-era piece of jewellery. If the hallmarks were legible, they could tell us when it was made, what metal was used, and perhaps even where it originated from. This would give us more context and insight into its historical significance.”
What Do You Think It Is?
Could it be a piece of long-lost treasure from the gold rush era? Or is it an old button or relic that just happened to survive the ages? Whatever it is, it’s an exciting reminder of how metal detecting can uncover the mysteries of the past.
