Top 2024 Finds: 5oz Nugget Uncovered with GPX 6000 in NSW

A prospector recently struck it rich beneath old reef workings in New South Wales, uncovering several stunning nuggets totalling up to 5oz. Found with a Minelab GPX 6000 and 9" Goldhawk coil, the discovery was nestled deep below remnants of past mining.

Darren often highlights that while many may assume these areas have been fully explored, it’s the overlooked or missed spots that can hide significant yields. After the discovery, the prospector melted the nuggets down, refining them to a purity of 94-98%. The resulting gold bar is a testament to the fact that even in well-

trodden areas, valuable treasures still remain waiting to be uncovered. It’s a reminder that the goldfields are far from exhausted — persistence, knowledge, and the right gear always offer the potential for remarkable finds.
